Common Questions

How much is this going to cost?

Pricing is generally quoted on a per project basis. Small changes, updates or upgrades are charged at an hourly rate.

Most brochureware websites consist of 4 - 7 pages of content including a 'contact' page and an 'about us' page. These types of sites start at around $2000 to $2500. More complicated sites (this usually means more features) will cost more depending on the amount of work required to implement the features.

For small projects that are charged on an hourly basis, the current rate is $60 per hour with a minimum of one hour.

How long is this going to take?

The honest answer is that it will take as long as it takes. Most sites can be completed in 2 to 4 weeks. Of course, complicated websites or sites with lots of content and/or customized features can take longer.

In most cases, the time frame is dictated by the client (you). We usually end up waiting on the client for things such as content, graphics (if the client has decided to supply them) or feedback when it is needed.

The quicker the client gets back to us, the quicker the site is completed.

Please keep in mind that the most important part of any website is its content. We can make your content look good, but without it, there is no reason for a visitor to browse your website.

The site's done. What now?

The website is complete. It's live and online. Now what do you do?

Most of the sites that we create are built on a CMS (content management system) framework. What this means is that we have made it easy for you to update and edit the contents of your website from your own browser. If your site is built on a CMS, we will train you (or someone you designate) on your new website. If you don't want the hassle or can't spare the time to maintain your website, ask us about our maintenance programs.

What technology do you use?

Our websites are generally built on one of two different content management systems (CMSs) depending on the complexity of the website:

  • WordPress: Most small websites can benefit from this CMS. It is well supported with lots of available addons for bolt-on features.
  • Drupal: The powerhouse CMS, we use Drupal for larger sites or those that need to address things such as a community website, multiple users, or specialized functions such as real estate listings, etc. With hundreds of available modules and the power to easily create custom modules Drupal can literally 'do it all'.

Our websites are built using PHP, HTML/XHTLM, and CSS. The websites we host are running on Linux based servers that use Apache webservers and MySQL databases to serve their content.
